However, the four-engine jumbo jet revolutionized the industry with its exceptional long-haul flight capability and sheer size, nearly three times larger than the largest jet flying at the time. When the first 747 made its first commercial flight 45 years ago, critics thought the aircraft would soon become obsolete as designers believed that supersonic aircraft would be taking over the skies. I have run into very few pilots that didn't love aviation to their core - in fact you have to, with all the trials and tribulations a pilot goes though in their career - you have to have a love affair with aviation to stay in it. Maybe to some people enthusiast means something different. If you are making love, do you enthusiastically jump out of bed when you hear a 747 engine? because if you do, you may not be an enthusiast but an idiot! LOL Can you be enthusiastic for aviation without having to be enthusiastic ALL the time? Then I was eager to fly in the afternoons and not at 0 dark thirty in the AM. ![]() Then I was excited when I could shoot an approach to minimums. It's funny, I used to get excited when it was severe clear. lets look at the word itself - it means enthusiastic, happy, eager - Maybe the flying professional is no longer a enthusiast and more of a realist? No matter what you fly there are days it's just a job, and other days you feel like a million dollars. But I wouldn't ever tell someone they HAD to download it either.Īnd to be an enthusiast. This guy used some creativity and made a video - if people don't like it, don't watch it. Like you have to hear engines and radios for it to be a good video? sure, in some videos it's nice both ways. Personally I would have called this video - Dangle the carrot :)Īmazing that people can be so negative over something so nice. ![]()
