12/12/2023 0 Comments Schiit stack not registering device![]() ![]() I'm definitely willing to continue listening to this and don't feel as disappointed as I did earlier.Įdit #2 - after some more listening, here are my current thoughts, but keep in mind I'm only a few hours in listening and playing around with various settings. I can more easily distinguish and follow detail and lyrics in the background - it's not just some nebulous series of complimentary tones. The biggest thing I've noticed so far, and I like it, is the background vocals are more clear. ![]() Granted the differences aren't what I'd call "huge", but I do think I'm picking up more on some of the background stuff. After listening for a short while, I feel like I am enjoying the setup more and hearing more detail in songs I regularly listen to. I also just now noticed there is a audible change in the sound when switching my pc from 16 bit, 48000 hz (default setting) and 32 bit, 192000 Hz, but I haven’t played with that enough yet to make any meaningful conclusions.Įdit per NoPlatypus6339's suggestion, I switched from using my computer's USB as the source into the Modi to SPDIF I set the computer audio settings for 'digital output' to 2 channels, 24bit, 96000 Hz, the highest setting. I really want to like the Schiit stack, and it’s definitely better than my work computer’s audio so I may it there, but I’m also considering returning it.Īm I missing something obvious that might help change my impressions? My primary audio source is Deezer Hi-Fi (lossless) coming off my PC. I’ve seen other comments in other threads around the internet implying I may be chasing that last 5%, which I’m beginning to think may be true. I haven’t yet found something that I would say is better. I actually prefer my computers sound to the default sound from the Schiit stack, though I can tweak it to get to a similar sound quality. I decided to purchase a Schiit stack (Loki/Modi/Magni Heresay) and now that it’s here, I’m honestly a bit underwhelmed. I then finally got everything to work by changing the primary playback back to VoiceMeeter Output.I’m pretty much a hi-fi novice and have been using Sennheiser 6XX headphones with my computer (asus strix b550f motherboard, which claims to have good audio). I tinkered with changing inputs and it would either get awful interference or things just wouldn't work. I thought I had fixed the problem after changing the frequency of all components to 24/44.1khz and selecting my Modi as the default playback device in Windows, but then I lost mic sound altogether. Yesterday I made the switch over and I thought it was going to be as easy as changing the A1 input from my GameDac to the Modi 3+ but I've since ran into some interference. No audio issues at all and I didn't touch any other settings to mess with the audio output. I've used VoiceMeeter Banana for the last 2 years or so solely to add some bass to the mic and to let me listen to my mic in real time since those headphones did a pretty good job of noise cancelling and it's honestly been great - exactly what I needed. ![]() Prior to this I had the Steelseries Arctis Pro + GameDac and also use a Blue Yeti for my dedicated mic. I recently purchased a Schiit Stack (Magni/Modi 3+) and pair of DT770's (80 ohm) to upgrade my sound system on PC. Apologies if I'm in the wrong place to ask this, but it involves a Schiit stack and I'm brand new to the audio game. ![]()
